About Our Church

Calvary Baptist was started as a backyard Bible study in the summer of 1972 and grew into an independent Baptist church.  Calvary is built on the teaching of the Bible as God’s inerrant Word and that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Calvary believes in the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ, which is to take the Gospel to every nation and make disciples. We believe in local evangelism and support missionaries who take the Gospel to the nations of the world.

What we believe

  • We believe the Bible is God’s Word.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute for all mankind to provide salvation.
  • We believe that only through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross can a person be saved.
  • We believe that Jesus rose from the grave on the third day and ascended back to Heaven after appearing to many witnesses.
  • We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church.
  • We believe in the return of Christ to this earth after the seven-year tribulation to set up the 1000-year reign and fulfill its promises to the nation of Israel.
  • We believe that all believers will enjoy eternity in the New Heaven and New Earth in the presence of God.
